Hann-Ocean’s ”No. 1" wave flume has
been constructed successfully
Hann-Ocean’s custom-design wave flume, No.1, has been realized and tested successfully by the 21st of July 2016. The geometric constraints within the base hall made the design extremely challenging. The variable depth wave flume is able to produce clean waves of 2 – 8 seconds and up to a wave height of 1m. It is meant to validate the Drakoo’s high efficiency, determined by mathematical calculations and computational fluid dynamics simulations.

On May 18 2016 Hann-Ocean attended the Marine renewable energy project bidding ceremony. A series of Marine energy experts were present for their important inputs. During the meeting, Zhao Chunjian introduced tide energy demonstration project overall design and Zhu Jingyou introduced the situation of ocean energy usage. Hann-Ocean has presented the unique advantages of Drakoo at the proposed site for ocean renewable application.

On May 15, 2016, the company staff has visited the Jiangsu marine Long Yuan offshore wind farm for first-hand inspection and information. Initial momentary wave measurements have been conducted. At first sight, it is concluded that the site is relatively energetic and good for wave energy applications, however long-term wave measurements are needed for data support and further cooperation.
